Watch the lace transformation with me: in the top frame the lace is on the loom and under tension. It doesn’t look lacy at all. The middle frame shows the same scarf, off the loom but pre-wet finish. The lace started developing as I moved the fabric, finishing the edges, cutting weft overlapping tails, etc. The bottom frame shows lace fully developed after washing in hot water for the first time. Every time I weave lace, I am mesmerized by its transformation.
That’s amazing! I haven’t woven anything like this yet but you’ve made it seem very intriguing. Can you tell me the name of the pattern? Are you using linen?

This is huck and huck lace, woven with mercerized cotton on 4-shaft loom. I found a good pattern and description in free e-book “Free handweaving projects for beginners” in the “elegant placemats” project description.
