A case of the cultural differences

When I was in Japan, I stood out: blonde, loud, not Asian. I was drawing in the stares like nobody’s business. However, when I got a cold and decided to don a medical mask to keep my germs to myself, I blended in. No more stares and side glances.
In Canada I don’t really stand out: blonde and all that. But as soon as I put on the mask, I was getting THE STARES. Totally reverse. Ha-ha-ha.
