Weaving is all about making rectangular things. At least, weaving on a rectangular framed loom. So, among baby wraps, towels, placemats and table runners, I can also make scarves. And here is the first scarf in the Wedding Bouquet collection, for a dear friend.
This is a plain weave, with a reeled silk as weft, and it feels and looks FAB. Yes, all capitals. Because it is. 🙂
The edges are hand-rolled, as I find the machine-stitching for these loop scarves on a thin silk warp a bit too rough. Yes, it takes forever to stitch, but it is worth it.
Just look at this drape!
