I’ve been bitten by a cottolin bug, I think, as out of the last four projects I wove three of them in cottolin.
And that’s what I noticed: the same yarn dyed in different colors has different softness and thickness. These differences disappear almost completely after the wet finish, but on a unwashed yarn they are quite noticeable. I am dressing the loom with natural color cottolin and this is the softest yarn I ever touched – even silk is not that soft! Amazing given that brown and green colour cottolin from baby wraps was so unkind to my hands. So I am really looking forward to the softest and fluffiest baby blankets in waffle weave. Weft is variegated cotton in yummy colours. Can’t wait!
