Things that don’t belong in the weaving world (part 2)

Or do they? Enter bottle cork. Way back when I was in school, we learned how to crochet a mushroom pin cushion. Besides learning to avoid crocheting at all costs, I also learned that soft pin holders are cute but not practical. For many years since I kept my needles in their original boxes. Not handy but safe. And now, where I routinely use tapestry needles and round head pins, I found my perfect solution. A bottle cork. But not from a vine bottle, no. From Scotch whisky bottles. These corks have a flat top that turns into sturdy base. And voilà! Now I have a sewing station pin holder, a weaving bench pin holder and kumihimo box pin holder! And I don’t have to carry around the same pin box.
